Under general direction, the Installer & Production Specialist will be responsible for the production and installation of signage.
As the specialist installer the position is responsible for the timely, quality, and compliant installation of all types of signs. Installation includes preparation for installations including packing, replenishment and maintenance of the equipment required in the vehicle. Preparation for the day’s installations to ensure efficient execution of the installations including artwork, work orders and briefing from the production manager.
In the production room, this position is responsible for all aspects of the physical construction and assembling of signs from computer cut vinyl and wide format full color printouts. Sign assembly includes preparing substrates and applying vinyl or other media according to written instructions. Also, mounting and/or laminating prints and operating and setting up the laminator for over-laminating, encapsulation, or mounting of digital imaged products is required. Proofreading signs and conducting quality assurance to ensure the accuracy of signs is required.

REPORTS TO: Centre Owner/Production Manager
INSTALLER RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Pack and load vehicles safely and securely for allocated work.2. Ensure field paperwork and administrative activities are fulfilled in an accurate and timely manner.
3. Ensures material handling is accurate and the product and documentation is correct.
4. Ensure the highest quality workmanship, and that the product is installed correctly as per job details provided.
5. Ensure PPE is always worn as required and available at all times.
6. Site audits and measures using the Employer’s best practice methods to maintain costs within the job budget.
7. Help estimate and maintain cost within job budgets.
8. Perform inspection and quality assurance on installations, communicating defects to Management.
9. Consult with clients on-site to ensure signs installed conform to expectations.
10. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all WH&S standards, policies, and procedures.
11. Work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment.
12. Understands and implements quality control techniques.
13. Provides trade guidance and assistance as part of a work team.
14. Performs non-trade tasks incidental to their work.
15. Operating basic computer systems.
PRODUCTION ROOM RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow a layout to place computer-generated vinyl or full color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium.
Prepare substrates for application. This may include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, and maintaining the substrates for application.
Weed excess vinyl from computer cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl and complexity of image. Know how and when to use each technique.
Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-construction by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards (bubbles, rough edges, loose seams).
Performing operations such as finishing, laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting of printed pieces.
Install signs when necessary.
Operate the laminator while maintaining proper fit and settings. Thread laminating or encapsulating material onto the machine, set temperature, pressure, and side guides for proper feeding of material.
Help unload raw materials; clean and maintain storage areas.
Maintain production rate consistency; meet or exceed established minimum rates per hour.
Work on different projects simultaneously.
Run proof sheet and secure approval for production run from supervisor.
Adherent to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
Any other tasks that are required to fulfill the requirements of the role within reason.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 
Communicate with other employees in a calm and professional manner; clear communication and listen attentively.
Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the franchise partner.
Keep the areas neat, clean, and organized.
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
Participate in and practice the SIGNWAVE sales mentality of “Everybody Sells.” Constantly be looking for sales opportunities for the center. Serve as a backup for answering the phone if the franchise partner, manager, and sales/service employees are busy assisting other customers. Assist at the front counter as needed. Understand the sales process enough to consult with customers to determine project needs and solutions.
