Call for Entries as Gala Dinner Details Released
With a month to go until entries close in the Currie Group 2024 Sign & Graphics Awards, with hosts Australian Sign & Graphics Association (ASGA) anyone who wants to put their best work up for an Award should get their skates on, says the ASGA.
The Awards, which have been running every two years since 2005, recognise the achievement of excellence across all areas of the sign, display and graphics sector, and are widely regarded as the pinnacle of achievement for industry businesses.
Many businesses have already sent in their entries for this year’s awards, which cover a wide range of project categories, but for those who have not, time is ticking says ASGA President, Mick Harrold.
“A month sounds like a long time, but the days can slip away fast so I’d encourage anyone who has a project they consider worthy of an award to go online to signs.org.au and step through the simple, online entry process,” he says.
“Before you jump online, identify the jobs which represent your best work, and then gather all the information you can about each, including photos of the finished work and information about its production,” Mick explains.
“Once you’ve registered online and provided your company details, you’ll be prompted to provide as much information as you can about the job, how it was produced and delivered, and anything else which our judges may need to know to properly consider it for an Award.
“You should also make sure you have some good quality images that show the quality of the work, its impact when used or installed, and the innovative qualities which set it apart from similar projects.”
All this, of course, takes a bit of time, which is why the ASGA is keen for business owners to start gathering their information now, rather than leave it to the last minute.
“As a business owner, I know how easy it is to get caught up in the day-to-day, and set aside things like Awards entries,” Mick acknowledges.
“However, I also know what a positive impact it can have on your team morale, on your business marketing, and on the wider industry to have your best work showcased in this way, so I’d really encourage business owners to consider entering.”
Categories cover virtually every aspect of the wider sign and graphics sector, with all categories explained in detail in the 2024 Award Categories document downloadable from the website. Entrants should also familiarise themselves with the 2024 Award Terms & Conditions, Mick says, to ensure the work entered is compliant.
The Currie Group 2024 Sign & Graphics Awards will be awarded at the industry’s ‘night of nights’, a Gala Presentation Dinner at Daltone House in Hyde Park, Sydney, on Friday 6 September.
To be eligible for entry, projects must be completed between Tuesday 8 March 2022 and Friday 31 May 2024 and must be received and by the deadline of 5pm on Friday 7 June 2024.
This year’s Awards are sponsored by Diamond Sponsor Currie Group, Gold Sponsors Avery Dennison, Graphic Art Mart, ORAFOL, Spandex and Visual Connections, Silver Sponsors Rowmark Australia, Roland DG, SMIB and Spicers, and Bronze Sponsors Ball & Doggett, Canon Production Printing, Celmac, HP, HVG Graphics Media and Pozitive Sign & Graphic Supplies.
