It wasn’t the ideal day for a round of golf, but the inclement Melbourne weather on Wednesday 4 October didn’t deter a record number of sign industry professionals from turning out for a fun day of Ambrose golf competition at the Sandhurst Golf Club.
More than 90 golfers tee’d off under threatening skies, representing companies including Spicers, Visual Exposure, IVE Group, Kwik Kopy, Roland, Peak Install, Empire Signs, Sign & Badge Solutions, SignManager, iSigns, Signarama, Hexis, Bentleigh Signs, Lettertech, Ball & Doggett, Forma Sign and SMIB.
The Spicers Team including Wayne Hood, Scott Houthton, Paul Tempest, Matt Hogg and Shane Britten took out the main honours on the day with an overall score of 54. They were closely followed by Team Graphic Art Mart, led by Matthew Christie with Warwick Mariluch, David Gardner, Daniel Ewington and Joel Tan with 55.875. A swag of other awards were made, including Nearest the Pin , Long Drive, Lucky Team and the tricky Survival Ball.
Spicers was principal sponsor of the event, while Graphic Art Mart provided drinks and the on-course drinks cart. SMIB sponsored drinks at lunch, along with some of the novelty hole prizes, where they were joined in sponsorship by Ball & Doggett, BounceLED, Letter Tech, Amari Visual Solutions, General Formulations, Hexis, HVG Graphics Media, ORAFOL, Shann DPM, Signarama and Visual Technologies.
Prizes were presented at a gourmet BBQ lunch, where the teams enjoyed an opportunity to network with the entire group after what was a chilly, but enjoyable, 18 holes.
