SA Industry Turns Out in Force for ASGA Social Bowls
On a balmy, 35-degree Adelaide night, 35 industry people gathered at the Adelaide Bowls Club on Thursday 21 November for what was possibly the most successful ASGA Social Bowls Event yet held.

It was a record turnout for the ASGA SA Social Bowls Event
ASGA Members, non-members, suppliers and media representatives were among the crowd who got ‘out on the green’ for the third annual Social Bowls event, which is sponsored by ORAFOL.
After a history lesson about the Club, bowlers were given some tips and tricks from pro Ian Hayes from Spandex, before breaking into teams of four for a knock-out competition to win a spot in the ‘Grand Final’.
Honours were hotly contested, and the final result came down to a tight final match up between the ‘Lagerfields’ – Derek from Signageworld, Iestyn from Spicers, Terry from Kwikstripe Sign Shope and Jarrod from Spandex – and the ‘Awesome Foursome’ comprising Dennis, Heather and Matt from Signarama Norwood and Julie from Sign Language SA.
In the end, it was team Awesome who came out on top to take home the top prize – bottles of SA Shiraz and Adelaide Bowling Club stubbie holders.

“It was wonderful to see such a large turnout for what was a really enjoyable evening and a great chance to catch up with industry colleagues and make new connections,” said Lisa Michalanney, SA Chair for ASGA.
“It was not only the largest registration and attendance we’ve ever enjoyed here in SA, but we believe we are now leading the other States with the best turnout for any ASGA Bowls event this year – a fantastic demonstration of the strength and enthusiasm of the SA industry.”
