Have your say – building and construction industry review

South Australian businesses from the building and construction industry are being invited to have your say in the SA Government’s review of the sector, which will focus on opportunities to enhance industry compliance, protect and inform consumers, and support the building sector to deliver high-quality building work.
Consultation is now open for you to share your views about reforms that the Government is proposing. These include:
- new registration requirements and increased oversight for building inspectors, owner builders and developers
- improvements to dispute resolution processes for consumers and building industry workers
- continuous professional development for building industry workers
- new enforcement tools and increased penalties to address poor practices within industry
- changes to building work contract requirements, including new rules for the use of sunset clauses in off-the-plan sales.
